Cape May Lighthouse Information and Hours

The Cape May Lighthouse was built in 1859. Guests of The Cape May Holly Suite will find the lighthouse just two miles from the city of Cape May. Visitors are treated to beautiful views of the sea and the shore landscape. Visitors will learn about the history of the lighthouse that was used by fisherman and mariners in the past.

The present tower, which is the third documented lighthouse at the southern tip of Cape May New Jersey, has been an aid-to-navigation for mariners and attraction for visitors  since it was built in 1859. More than 2.5 million visitors have visited the lighthouse since it opened  in 1988.

Not everyone can or wants to climb all those stairs. For those who choose not to climb, the Oil House on the grounds contains an accessible Visitors' Orientation Center and Museum Gift Shop with souvenirs, books and maritime items.

Admission is $8 adults; $5 children (ages 3-12). Tickets may be purchased online or at the Lighthouse during hours of operation
